The Fruzen Intermediate School team, the Fruzen Outlaws, won 2nd place at State with the Fine Arts challenge. In “Get a Clue”, students were required to:
- Present a mystery story set on Earth in a team-chosen time period before 1990.
- Discover, live on stage, which of the three suspect characters is responsible for the mystery.
- Include a TechniClue that helps solve the mystery.
- Present in the style of traverse staging.
- Create and present two Team Choice Elements that show off the team’s interests, skills, areas of strength, and talents.
Students on the team, coached by Emily Allen, Fruzen Educator, are Maxwell Allen, Maison Hosey, Carter Lily Johnson, Brooks Mitchell, Ellie Saladar, Norah Saladar, and Kai Wong.

The team is beginning to fundraise for the trip to Globals. The cost per team member is $715, which includes the entrance fee, lodging and meals. One of their first fundraisers will be a brat stand at the downtown Beloit ACE Hardware, on opening day of the Beloit Farmer’s Market on Saturday, May 7th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, as well as on May 14. In addition, people can also donate directly at the Go Fund Me site.
Global competition will take place May 24 – May 27, 2016.
