Best Sectional Seed in School History
In recent years boys soccer has been arguably one of the most successful programs at BMHS. This year the team earned the #3 seed in their sectional (the best in school history), finished with the best ever conference record in the BIG 8, and defeat two teams they had never defeated before.
“This year has been a huge success for the boys,“ said coach Brian Denu.
The team had five players recognized on all-conference teams.
Alberto Martinez earned first team accolades while Coco Castellanos, Lorenzo Amador and Andres De La Torre were named to second team all-conference and Tony Zepeda was named to the honorable mention team.
Alberto Martinez said,
“I’m just really proud of how hard everyone worked. It’s really a team effort and we’ve done awesome this year,” said Martinez, who also broke the standing school record this year of 31 goals in a season, by scoring 34 goals.
“We hope to keep the ball rolling around the field for three more weeks,” Denu added.
