Eligibility
Children who will be five years of age on or before September 1, 2016 are eligible for the 5K program. Those who will be four years of age on or before that date are eligible for the 4K program. Both programs are full-day.
4K programming will be available at all district primary schools (Converse, Gaston, Hackett, Merrill, Robinson and Todd), as well as Head Start. (Eligibility required for 4K enrollment at Head Start).
Parents have the choice of enrolling their children in traditional 4K or 5K programming, or the dual language immersion program (DLI). DLI is offered at Hackett, Robinson and Todd Elementary Schools.
This program follows the Two-Way Immersion model, which not only gives students whose first or dominant language is Spanish the support they need to access the curriculum in a more comprehensive manner, but also gives students whose first or dominant language is not Spanish an opportunity to learn the language while still learning the grade-level curriculum.

The office is located at the Kolak Education Center, see map below. (Current students moving from 4K to five-year-old kindergarten do NOT have to re-enroll. Information will be distributed to parents of those students at a later date.)
