National Farm to School Month
The School District of Beloit is joining schools, preschools, colleges and individuals across the Great Lakes Region states of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana and Ohio in celebrating National Farm to School Month and Food Day by crunching into delicious apples on Food Day, October 22nd for the Great Lakes Great Apple Crunch!
This year, all elementary school students AND teachers will get an apple to crunch all together! Everyone is encouraged to crunch into an apple on October 22 to support local farms and celebrate Food Day!
Supporting Local Farm to School
This collective crunch encourages healthy eating and supports farm to school and local food initiatives throughout the Great Lakes Region. Farm to School events, such as the Great Apple Crunch, encourage students to enjoy delicious local foods through classroom nutrition education, presentations, and snack and lunch offerings throughout the year.
Regional partners have created a guide to help every Great Lakes child crunch into a delicious apple this October! For more information about the Great Lakes Great Apple Crunch and receive your guide.
