Literacy is a Life Skill

Madison Reading Project is a literacy based non-profit organization providing new and used books and programs to at-risk children in South Central Wisconsin. In 2016 Madison Reading Project donated over 10,000 books. Their goal for 2017 is to give 25,000 books to area children.

Amy Mueller, reading specialist at Fruzen Intermediate School has worked with Carie Castree from the Madison Reading Project to help supplement the classroom libraries of two 4th grade teachers, as well as to secure a variety of books for reading interventions and Reader’s Workshop.

So far, Fruzen has received over 600 books from the organization. As you can see from the photos, Fruzen students are grateful for their partnership and support.
